Galaxy Not Done Shopping

It looks as though the LA Galaxy are not happy yet with their roster and are looking to continue making changes into the next week. Word from the Soccer Insider Steve Goff is that they are actively trying to find a suitor for midfielder Santino Quaranta. With recent signings of Carlos Pavon and the trade earlier for Chris Klein, the Galaxy are mainly looking to dump some salary here.
The club has only a few days left to find someone to trade with for Quaranta. On July 1 all the contracts in the MLS become guaranteed for the season. If they don’t find someone in the next couple days you may expect Quaranta to be waived before the July 1 deadline.

So far the talks have been that New York, Kansas City and Colorado are all in the mix to land Quaranta. It looks as though if a trade is done that the Galaxy will be getting future draft picks in the process to finish out the deal.

Quaranta isn’t a bad product at all, he is still relatively young at the age of 22. He has also seen some time with the National team making 11 appearances.

I think many teams will be looking to land Quaranta if he is indeed waived by the Galaxy next week. I don’t know any of the waiver statuses of the clubs but I wouldn’t be surprised if clubs like RSL and Columbus are high on the list to land a waived player first. Its not that the Galaxy don’t like Quaranta’s play and form on the field, they are merely just cutting some salary that is counted towards the cap.

Quaranta’s recent comments about the Galaxy only mean is days are numbered and that the club isn’t really doing all that well even with the recent win over RSL.

“They’re trading everybody, man,” he said. “It’s a panic. I’m not sure Frank and Alexi are on the same page. It’s a bad situation right now.”

Who would Ti-no fit in with the best you may ask? Probably a club like Kansas City. He and Eddie Johnson are old U17 pals. What is your take on the recent moves by the Galaxy?
