I have to make this a bit snappy as I am pressed for time here, so apologies for that. A eastern conference match-up during the midweek tonight as Kansas City travels to Columbus.
With or without Eddie Johnson the Wizards are a much better team than the Crew but do have every reason to feel happy about their last result (3-3 draw at New England). I still think the Wizards won’t be missing too much with EJ out on the mix, it is something they will grow accustom with over the next few weeks. Plus, the Crew will be without some young guns who were called into action for the U20 World Cup (Robbie Rogers, Tim Ward and Danny Szetela).
As much as I am hoping for a Columbus win tonight to make things a bit more confusing in the east I just don’t see it happening. The Crew will also be missing one of their better defenders in Rusty Pierce due to yellow card suspension.
Columbus should have won their last meeting but they won’t have a chance in this one I think.
WVH Prediction: Kansas City 2, Columbus 0
