So its been a couple weeks since any real trades and deals here in the league but fresh out of Salt Lake City is a talk or discussion about how Jason Kreis is hoping to make a couple deals. I guess he is using the Mo Johnston logic that if it is broke, then fix it and fix it some more until you get your first win.
Goff at the Washington Post and the lads at MLS Underground have reported on various talks about some intriguing trades.
The possible deals right now are:
- Jeff Cunningham to Los Angeles for Nate Jaqua and an unknown player.
- Alecko Eskandarian from Toronto to Salt Lake City.
Now, I have been saying for weeks how badly the Galaxy need a proven striker to go along side Donovan and company. Cunningham would be just that. I like Jeff but I can’t say he has been working out this season for RSL. Sometimes when things are bad you just been to restart and oddly enough shipping Cunningham makes a lot of sense for Kreis. I am not saying landing Jaqua would solved their problems at RSL but it would be a fresh start for both sides.
Now the Alecko to RSL rumor is an interesting one. I like Alecko in Toronto and I believe he likes where he is at right now up north. It would make sense for RSL but not for Toronto to deal Alecko. In a way I really hope this rumor is just that and not something that is actually going to happen.
Kreis wants at least three impact players…so any other ides who he could go for? Your thoughts are always welcome.
I will be back with more details on everything once they are passed along to me.
