The latest FIFA rankings now show South American stable Argentina as the new number one in the soccer world. Argentina climbed over Italy and fellow South American Brazil to grab the first spot.
Finland was a big gainer in the latest poles moving 15 spots to number 33.
The US were shown at number 30. Two spots down from their last rankings. The US haven’t played a game in a few weeks and that is why there are some movements in the rankings.
I like the new style of rankings. They aren’t nearly as predictable as the old style. Seeing two different countries don the top spot this year alone tells us the new rankings could actually hold some decent meaning.
